Even well fitting dentures can feel more comfortable with Super Poligrip^®. Just a few dabs create a seal between your dentures and gums making them more comfortable while you eat. There's a variety of denture adhesive variants to fit your individual needs including creams, strips and powders.

• Clean and dry your dentures.
• Apply adhesive in short ¼" strips, not too close to denture edges.
• Rinse mouth before inserting dentures.
• Press dentures in place, hold firmly and bite down for a few seconds to secure.

• Clean and dry your dentures.
• With dry hands, peel open and remove strips.
• Lightly moisten one strip at a time with water.
• Place strips on denture, not too close to denture edges. Do not overlap strips. (Tear strips if needed.)
• Rinse mouth with water before inserting denture.
• Press denture in place, hold firmly and bite down.

• Clean dentures thoroughly, leaving them wet.
• Open cap to expose tip.
• Apply evenly by squeezing the bottle. Shake off excess powder.
  • For Upper Dentures, position the bottle so powder is dispensed over a large surface area. Move tip from front to back of denture.
  • For lower Dentures, position the bottle so powder is dispensing in thin stream. Move tip along the "U" of the denture channel.
• Press dentures in place and hold firmly for a few moments.
• Keep dispenser tip dry so that the opening does not clog.

The effects could last all-day (up to 16 hours) depending upon the individual, the fit of the denture, the amount of saliva in the mouth and the foods and beverages that are consumed. You should not apply Super Poligrip^® more than once a day.

Super PoliGrip^® should only be used and applied according to label directions. Poligrip^® Denture Adhesive is not intended for use in ill-fitting dentures that should be re-lined or replaced by a dentist. Therefore, only a small amount of adhesive should be needed. There are picture graphics on the box that show how to apply a small amount of Super Poligrip^® to upper and lower dentures. Oozing of adhesive from beneath dentures should be avoided. If oozing occurs, reduce the amount of adhesive that you are applying. Super Poligrip^® holds all day, therefore you should not apply Super Poligrip^® more than once a day. As an example of proper use, a tube of Super Poligrip^® should last several weeks depending on size (e.g., 0.75 oz about 3 weeks, 1.4 oz about 4 to 6 weeks, 2.4 oz about 8 to 10 weeks). If your use regularly exceeds these amounts, this may be a sign of ill-fitting dentures and you should consult your dentist. Consulting your dentist regularly will help maintain properly- fitting dentures.

• Swish mouth with water.
• Slowly remove dentures by using a rocking motion.
• Remove denture adhesive from your gums and dentures with warm water and a soft brush.
• Use Polident Denture cleanser to thoroughly clean your dentures.

Although most Super Poligrip^® cream denture adhesives do contain zinc, Super Poligrip^® Comfort Seal^® Strips, Powder, and Super Poligrip^® Free do not. Zinc is used in denture adhesives to improve holding power. It is an essential mineral that is found in every cell in the body, and it plays a variety of roles in normal body functions, including growth, supporting a healthy immune system and wound healing.

Swallowing small amounts of denture adhesive, when used as directed, may occur and is not harmful. Per the product directions, you should not apply Super Poligrip^® more than once a day. If you feel you need to apply the product more frequently or think that you are swallowing an unusually large amount of the product, you should consult your dentist about the fit of your dentures.

Super Poligrip^® contains 38 mg of zinc per gram.

When used according to label directions, this product is considered safe and effective for daily long-term use. However, you should not use denture adhesive to compensate for a poorly fitting denture. You should consult your dentist regularly to ensure proper-fitting dentures. Using excessive amounts of the product over a prolonged period of time has been reported to result in serious health effects from increased zinc intake.

Ingestion of large amounts of zinc may produce gastrointestinal symptoms, such as nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea. When continued for a prolonged period, copper deficiency may occur. Copper deficiency may result in anemia, which may cause feelings of fatigue and lack of stamina. Copper deficiency resulting from excessive ingestion of zinc over a prolonged period of time may also result in neurological symptoms, including numbness and tingling in the arms and legs, loss of balance and coordination, and impaired ability to walk. Check with your doctor if you have any concerns or are experiencing any of these symptoms.

According to the National Institutes of Health, Office of Dietary Supplements, high intakes of 150 to 450 mg of zinc per day have been associated with reports of laboratory test results showing copper deficiency, altered iron function, reduced immune function and reduced levels of high-density lipoproteins (HDL, good cholesterol.) Severe copper deficiency can lead to neurologic symptoms such as numbness, tingling, weakness and balance difficulties and/or hematologic problems, such as anemia. Ingestion of a very large amount of zinc has been reported to produce abdominal discomfort and diarrhea. Check with your doctor if you have any concerns.

If you are using a denture adhesive containing zinc, such as Super Poligrip^®, and you want to take a zinc supplement or cold remedy, talk to your doctor first. It's always a good idea to consult with your doctor before taking any over-the-counter medicine or supplement to make sure that he/she is aware of all the medicines and products you are using.

We made these changes to enhance and improve the information on the label and to provide appropriate information about how to use the product. Also, the label now advises that there have been reports of serious health effects from increased zinc intake resulting from excessive use of zinc-containing denture adhesives over a prolonged period of time.
